Here’s a nice graph I got from Off the Charts Blog, put together by the Center on Budget Policy Priorities, and based on Congressional Budget Office estimates. In other words, it comes with a pretty good pedigree.
This is where the deficit comes from, and even a quick look tells us exactly what to do about it.
Obviously, to deal with the deficit we must let Bush’s tax cuts expire, improve the economic situation by stimulating jobs, and get out of these pricey wars.
It’s so simple. Too bad we’re not actually doing anything of the sort.
